MEGAN
IGA NEPHROPATHY LEADING TO KIDNEY TRANSPLANT
CHALLENGE
Megan was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy, also known as Berger's disease, where an antibody lodges in the kidney and can lead to end-stage kidney failure for some patients. Megan received a kidney transplant in 2008 and has needed monthly infusions of the immunosuppressant Belatacept to prevent her body from rejecting the kidney.
SOLUTIONS
RHI provides Megan with infusions of Belatacept and clinical assessments every month. Megan travels extensively for work and for fun, so her RHI infusion team works hard to make sure that she gets her laboratory tests, clinical monitoring, and intravenous infusion efficiently so that she can maintain her busy schedule.
RESULTS
Today, Megan holds a promising career and even competes in Spartan Races where she overcomes a series of different obstacles – for fun.
